Description

This eLearning programme provides an introduction to supporting people living with dementia and is intended to be used as an enhancement to previous or future Maybo training programmes for those working in dementia-related services and care environments. 

Objectives

Module 1 - Promoting Human Rights and Reducing Restrictive Practice

  1. Recognise underpinning legislation, principles and definitions
  2. Recognise restrictive practices
  3. Recognise duty of care and ethical decision making
  4. Recognise considerations for dealing with suspected abuse
     

Module 2  - Understanding Behaviours of Concern

  1. Explain the principles of providing person-centred support
  2. Recognise the characteristics of behaviour
  3. Explain factors that can influence behaviour
  4. Identify the different functions of behaviour
